What to Expect

What’s it like to work with us? That’s a great question to ask any company that will be working on your home.

We Don’t Sell, We Educate

Our sales staff thinks of themselves more as facilitators than salesmen. We are here to help you choose the products that are right for your unique situation. We believe in educating our customers so that they can make the most informed buying decisions and choose intelligently from what can seem a dizzying array of products.

When a customer calls or e-mails us, we set up an initial meeting—at the customer’s home or in our showroom. If we meet at the customer’s home, the salesman will take preliminary measurements, show the customer samples and color chips, and provide manufacturers’ literature. He will also ask a lot of questions to make sure he understands the customer’s needs, budget, and expectations before making specific recommendations. We encourage customers to visit our showroom, where they can see and operate full-size product samples and learn first-hand about the pros and cons of various styles and materials.

Once the customer has chosen a product, the salesman will determine a price and write up a contract which defines the scope of work, projected delivery time, and payment requirements.

The Installation Process

Before we begin a new project, we provide written guidelines that explain what preparations the homeowner needs to make prior to our arrival so that the installation can be completed efficiently and safely. To ensure that the installation goes smoothly, the entire job will be re-measured and detailed by an experienced Hodges employee. The product is then ordered from the manufacturer. When the product arrives in our warehouse, our warehouse manager will call to schedule installation.

Our installation team includes a foreman and one or more installers or helpers. We emphasize to our teams that they must always leave a job site neat and clean. To that end, they will protect flooring with drop cloths. If necessary, they will also cover nearby furniture and items that could be damaged by dust. Installation can be a messy and dusty process, and on occasion additional dusting or minor cleaning by the homeowners may be required. When the job is complete, all dropcloths will be removed and debris cleaned up and hauled away.

The homeowner will be given an envelope containing the final invoice, Hodges Company contact information, product care information, and all applicable warranties. The homeowner is asked to pay our installers upon completion of the job either by check or credit card.

To ensure the highest level of quality and trust, Hodges Company maintains an ongoing employee drug testing program.
